What is Retiroll?
Retiroll is a browser-based Decision Studio for everyday choices and group activities. Enter names, places, numbers, or ideas, then choose from nine modes. You can spin a wheel, reveal a combination on reels, aim at a dartboard, choose a mystery card, or organize a tournament.
Is Retiroll free to use?
The current application is free to use. You can try Sandbox without an account. Advertising may appear in Sandbox and selected public pages under the site’s advertising settings; live participant routes are excluded.
Do I need an account?
Sandbox, device drafts and guest room sessions do not require registration. Sign in with a registered account for cloud saves. A device draft stays on this browser until you explicitly copy or export it.
Should I use Sandbox, a preset, or Saved setups?
Use Sandbox for a quick choice and presets for prepared examples. Saved setups stores reusable configurations. Multiplayer lets you create a supported player game or a shared live view with spectators.
How do I save my work?
Sandbox saves its local settings automatically. In Saved setups, choose Device drafts or Account saves and use Save. A device save does not confirm a cloud save, and saving a setup never opens or renews a room.
Why are my settings or saved results missing on another device?
Sandbox settings, local drafts, and private history are stored in the browser, with separate account and guest storage. They do not follow you automatically. Check which browser and account you used. Clearing site data or closing a private-browsing session may remove local records. Use a cloud-saved set or a JSON export to transfer a configuration.
Options & customization
Why does switching modes show a different list?
Each mode keeps its own options so a six-face die can coexist with a much longer wheel list. Additional wheels, reels, and dice also have independent lists. Where Copy from Wheel is available, it replaces the current list with a copy of the main wheel’s entries, trimmed to the destination mode’s capacity.
How many options can I add?
The controls allow up to 10,000 entries on a wheel, six faces per die, six cards, 90 numbered or 95 custom Lottery entries, 20 dart slices, and 11 Plinko buckets. Darts also has a separate 82-zone mapping studio. Tournament uses its own contestant editor. Large lists can be slower on some devices.
How do I import a spreadsheet or paste a list?
In a standard options list, paste one entry per line or use its import control for XLSX, XLS, CSV, or TXT. For spreadsheets, put a header row above labels in the first column and optional weights in the second column of the first worksheet. Review the preview and choose append or replace. The dedicated Tournament roster does not offer this importer.
Why did an import omit the first entry or shorten my list?
In normal multirow spreadsheet imports, the first row becomes column headings. Add a header row so your first option is read as data. The importer reads the first worksheet and uses its first two columns. Paste, import, and Copy from Wheel also trim entries to the active mode’s capacity.
How do weights change a selection?
For a weighted selection, an option’s intended share is its weight divided by the total eligible weight. Weights of 2, 1, and 1 give shares of 50%, 25%, and 25%. The badge cycles through 1×, 2×, 3×, 5×, and 10×; paste and import support whole numbers from 1 to 100. This formula does not describe aiming, choosing a facedown card, or recording tournament match results.
How do I avoid repeat picks and restore the list?
Enable No-Repeat for successive draws, such as calling speakers from a wheel. Picked entries are marked as eliminated. Use the reset-eliminations control to restore them. Duplicate labels are still separate entries, so deduplicate the list first if each person should have one entry. Check remaining options before using eliminate-and-run-again.
Can I change the colors, timing, and number of wheels or dice?
Yes. Use Color Studio for palettes and Pointer Studio for the wheel pointer. Sandbox supports up to ten wheels, one to three reels, and one to six dice. Timing controls are mode-specific preset buttons: some offer long suspense settings, while Dice uses throw strength and Bottle uses spin strength. Test the active mode rather than treating a delay value as an exact total duration.
Modes & rules
Are all nine modes random?
No. Several modes use weighted selection, but Darts involves aiming, Blind Decision reveals the card you choose, Track Target challenges you to follow a designated card, and Tournament records match results entered by the controller. Plinko selects a weighted destination and guides the animation toward it. Choose the interaction that fits your activity.
What is the difference between Blind Decision and Track Target?
ChronoSleight calls these Mystery Spin and Skill Decision. Mystery conceals the options and reveals your chosen card as the decision. Skill shows a target before shuffling; that target remains the decision even if your guess misses. Arcade Run adds three hearts, levels, streaks and Lightning bonuses. Choose a two-to-six-card formation and wait until shuffling finishes before picking.
Which Cards modes can we share online?
Online Cards offers Mystery Spin, Skill Decision and Arcade Run as shared views. One controller operates the shuffle, picks and supported abilities; spectators watch permitted cues and reveals. Skill and Arcade require visual tracking and are casual controller runs, without competitive player seats.
How do I throw a dart or use custom targets?
Local Darts offers match play and custom targets. Multiplayer supports two claimed players in 301 or 501. Both agree to timing aiming or untimed assisted aiming before readiness. Only the current player can throw; extra joiners watch.
Does Tournament automatically play or score each match?
Click a team to record a game win, or use Instant Advance to decide a series. The pencil on each match opens its game-by-game score editor. The bracket advances winners and handles byes. Simulate resets progression and randomly decides the tournament. You can choose single or double elimination, Best of 1/3/5/7, and three layouts.
Can I close a tournament and resume it later?
Free Play saves the current bracket in this browser. Save your saved setup to retain its setup and progress. You can also export complete JSON or copy a bracket URL to reopen it elsewhere. Resetting, shuffling, applying a roster, or changing elimination format starts fresh progression. Older tournaments open fresh while retaining their original data.
Live rooms
How do I open a live room?
Open Multiplayer and Create room. Choose a supported game or Share live view, enter a display name and confirm creation. Share the new room code after admission. Saved setups can prepare supported watch settings, but saving a setup alone does not create a room.
How do participants join?
Open Join and enter the six-character invitation code, or follow the room link. Choose a display name you are comfortable sharing. Everyone initially watches; supported player games require a claimed seat and shared readiness. Registration is not required.
Why can I watch the room but not spin, pick, or throw?
Shared live views have one controller; spectators cannot spin, pick, reveal or edit outcomes. In Darts and Bottle, only the current seated actor may act. Room ownership manages invitations and membership but does not override another player’s turn.
How many people can join, and how long does a room last?
Darts requires two claimed players; Bottle supports 2–12. Extra joiners watch, subject to the configured room limit. New rooms expire after 30 minutes of inactivity, have an eight-hour maximum lifetime and may close earlier. These limits are not a measured simultaneous-user capacity guarantee.
Results & history
Can I export or transfer a game set?
Yes. Export the set’s JSON from its dashboard card. In Saved setups, import a JSON file or paste the exported JSON code to create an imported set. The file can include all its options and configuration; review it before sending it to someone. A set export is different from a result export.
Where is private history stored, and can I clear it?
My Private History stays in this browser, scoped to the current account or guest. It is not cloud-synchronized history. The current limit is 100 entries. Open Game History & Activity to search winner names, filter by mode, delete an entry, keep the latest ten, or clear your history.
Does Community Activity publish my winners or list?
No. Community Activity shows aggregate Sandbox counts by mode and UTC day for a rolling 30 days. Its spin-recording request sends the mode, not the winner or list. Your individual result history is separate. If the aggregate service is unavailable, local play can continue.
Controls & troubleshooting
Where are the options and tools on my phone?
Open the options/settings drawer below the stage to edit the active list. The drawer title changes with the mode. Use Quick Tools for the Command Palette. If an action is hidden, exit Zen presentation and check the full stage layout.
Why is the main action unavailable?
Check the current phase, pending action and eligible entries. In a shared live view, only the controller acts. In player games, check your claimed seat, readiness and turn. The interface explains unavailable actions; reconnecting never automatically resubmits a gesture.
Which keyboard shortcuts are available?
Use the visible controls or focus the stage to use its offered Space action. Room character shortcuts are opt-in and scoped; typing, modal dialogs and focused native buttons keep their own keys. Sandbox has its separate mode shortcuts. Open Commands and help to see the current actions.
How do I present on a TV or projector?
Use Zen presentation to focus on the stage. The browser enters native fullscreen where supported, with an expanded-page fallback elsewhere. Stage zoom runs from 60% to 180%; the percentage control resets it. Tournament has its own canvas zoom from 18% to 240% and an OBS Overlay for transparent broadcasts. A local presentation does not create a live room.
How do I mute sound, and why might it be silent?
Use the stage sound control or press M to toggle mute. The full tool has its own sound controls, separate from the landing demonstrations. Browsers may require an interaction before audio starts; begin with an on-screen action and check the device’s volume and mute settings.
Can I use Retiroll offline or on an older device?
Do not rely on offline operation. First loads, sign-in, cloud saves, and live rooms require a connection; cached local play depends on your browser. On a slower device, reduce list size and the number of simultaneous wheels or dice, then test the setup before your activity.
Data & trust
Who can see the options and names I enter?
Device drafts remain in this browser. Registered-account saves use owner access policies. Admitted room members receive shared settings, display names and public results. Room codes are discovery information, not permission to take a seat or act. Review labels before sharing.
Does Retiroll guarantee a fair or certified draw?
Retiroll is for casual choices and games. Local tools and server-controlled rooms use different randomness and mode-specific rules. Aiming, card tracking and controller-entered tournament rankings are not all random draws. Weights and animations do not establish independent auditing or certification.
How do I report an issue or suggest an improvement?
Use Contact and include the page or mode, browser/device, expected action and what happened. Mention Sandbox, Saved setups or the room role. Avoid private rosters, room tokens and account credentials.
